Deployed worldwide in the most demanding open-ocean and littoral environments, Leonardo’s naval helicopters provide true multi-role capability, extending and strengthening maritime operations. Our rich heritage is combined with leading-edge technologies to meet the exacting requirements of our customers around the world.

Naval missions span the globe from pole to pole and operators’ needs are just as wide-ranging. Our helicopters deliver multi-role capability across the entire maritime domain, blending latest-generation platforms with advanced on-board systems that integrate military sensors, mission systems, weapons and modular role equipment.

Our naval products span training-focused and dual-use rotary-wing aircraft through to Rotary Unmanned Aerial Systems (RUAS) and specialised military helicopters. Whatever the mission, from ISTAR and Maritime Interdiction to Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW), Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and SAR, our range of naval platforms can support it.

The medium-heavy lift, three-engine AW101 builds on decades of experience in deep water, littoral and land missions, and is the world’s most advanced, versatile and capable helicopter in its class. Our twin-engine all-weather attack AW159 can execute both naval and land military missions.

The NH90 twin-engine, medium-size helicopter programme is managed by the joint venture NHIndustries, a company owned by Leonardo Helicopters, Airbus Helicopters and GKN Fokker.  The NATO Frigate Helicopter (NFH) variant is primarily conceived for autonomous ASuW and ASW missions.
