M-Star Projects in the course of expansion

By joining the global Project Logistics Alliance (PLA), Herfurth Logistics aims to further expand its project division M-Star Projects: "Projects is a 'people business' where good contacts are very important", stresses Olivier d'Hoop, managing director of Herfurth Logistics.

Herfurth Logistics took over Rotterdam-based M-Star Freight Agencies in 2017 and in April last year brought all project logistics, breakbulk, roro and 'high & heavy' activities under the banner 'M-Star Projects powered by Herfurth Logistics'.

PLA agent

"Through M-Star Projects in the Netherlands and the Caucasus, we were already agents for PLA. The alliance is a closed network and each country can only have a maximum of two members. One of the Belgian members dropped out so we could join," explains Olivier d'Hoop, managing director of Herfurth Logistics.

Expanding

Through the PLA membership, Herfurth Logistics aims to further expand its project activities. "Currently we are active with M-Star Projects in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Turkey. PLA is a very active network and through that platform we can make contacts with specialized people worldwide and publicize our branding. Projects is a 'people business' where good contacts are very important for both sea and air freight. Through these relationships, we can gain more knowledge of the market", stresses d'Hoop. For example, he wants to use the network to establish contacts with the oil countries.
Herfurth Logistics employs a network manager who follows up all meetings and contacts with the specialized networks.
