EASA Rotorcraft and VTOL Symposium EUROPEAN ROTORS 2023

EASA Rotorcraft and VTOL Safety Symposium

The EASA Rotorcraft and VTOL Safety Symposium edition 2023 will be held on Monday, 27th November in Madrid Convention Center IFEMA. The show floor opens on Tuesday 28th.

Spain which will hold the presidency of the Council of the European Union and together with EASA, will be glad to welcome the European and Global vertical lift community in Madrid.

The eVTOL industry in Europe and in the US are progressing through development and testing, the certification is ongoing, and the industry is preparing for the first operations in 2024/2025 and the scaling.

The EASA Rotorcraft and VTOL Safety Symposium will be subdivided into four blocks. First, an opening session with keynote speech from the Spanish authority, EASA and EHA. Then EASA will update you on eVTOL certification by presenting the latest status on means of compliance with a focus on the critical aspects of handling qualities and battery certification. A third block on Rotorcraft safety, giving a deeper insight in full tank retrofit and addressing new safety objectives for small rotorcraft. The last block will address the challenges of considering sustainability in the development of new policies and discuss how to design policies creating synergies between Safety and sustainability.

It is also of high importance for EASA that the Symposium will provide a platform to discuss and exchange on the latest development in safety certification. Therefore, a networking event will give an opportunity to further exchange and maintain the discussion.  On the following day the fair of EUROPEAN ROTORS will open its doors and offer a wide range of conference, briefings, and training opportunities for all stakeholders.
