Situational Awareness System (SitAwS)

SitAwS is a 3D-Laser scanning (LiDAR) System to support landing and take-off also under adverse weather compliant with VFR during day and edge times conditions. SitAwS warns the pilot/crew if one or more obstacles, like wires, poles, trees, etc. come closer to the H/C than a predefined distance.

LAKE FUSION Technologies Airborne GmbH headquartered in Markdorf (Baden-Wuerttemberg) is a high-tech company founded in 2023 as a division of LAKE FUSION Technologies GmbH (LFT). The founding team has more than 15 years of experience and expertise in the field of sensor signal processing, data fusion for safety-critical applications in the aviation and military sectors as well as in the management of complex developments.
At LAKE FUSION Technologies GmbH, founded in 2018, the founders use their expertise, networks and experience to transfer safety standards from aviation to highly automated driving.
With the founding of LAKE FUSION Technologies Airborne, the circle is now complete: from the ground back to airborne applications. Now the team is putting its expertise back into aviation to develop a reliable and lightweight real-time obstacle warning system - SitAwS - for helicopters based on 3D sensor technology.
The company has expanded its presence abroad by establishing the US subsidiary LAKE FUSION Technologies LLC.
In addition, LFT is an integral part of various German and international cutting-edge research projects.
